An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Centre for Climate Change & Social Transformations (CAST) to deliver its mission of helping people create the transformation required to tackle climate change.
**About the role**:
CAST is seeking two highly motivated Research Associates to develop, deliver and disseminate our research, and ultimately help tackle the climate crisis. You will analyse existing survey data (e.g. on climate change attitudes, water use) and write up findings for academic publication and wider dissemination. There is also the potential to design novel research, such as climate communications experiments, and to help write funding proposals for the next phase of CAST.
These roles are offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) fixed-term basis until end April 2024.
**About you**:
You will have a background in social science and have excellent research analysis and communication skills. In addition, you should have:
- Awareness of the latest developments in the field of environmental social science, particularly climate attitudes and behaviour;
- Ability to write research papers and to effectively disseminate outcomes
- Ability to prepare research proposals and achieve funding
**About the Department**:
The Centre for Climate Change & Social Transformations (CAST) is a five-year (with potential for a further 5-10 year extension) £5m investment by ESRC, involving the University of Bath, Cardiff University, Manchester University, University of East Anglia, York University and Climate Outreach. The Centre aims to be a global hub for understanding the profound changes required to address climate change.
