This is an exciting opportunity to lead, develop, and inspire the Data Science & AI curriculum area within the DataKirk. To maximise learner success, provide a range of opportunities and deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment.

This role includes working with the Director & Project Coordinators to coordinate and develop the Data Science & AI curriculum at the DataKirk to ensure that it is of the highest quality experience for learners.

Applicants must be outstanding instructor, experienced in leading a team, enthusiastic, committed and flexible in their approach to work, and be able to function effectively under pressure.

**What will you be doing?**
- Develop and maintain the curriculum, ensuring it remains current, relevant, and aligned with industry standards and best practices.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to learners throughout the programmes, offering personalised feedback to help them achieve their learning goals.
- Assess learners performance through a combination of assignments, exams, and projects, providing constructive feedback to help them improve.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to refine course materials and ensure the highest quality of educational content.
- Lead a team of instructors, ensuring they are well-prepared to support learners and maintain a consistent, effective learning environment.
- Participate in program evaluation, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in data science, incorporating relevant changes into the curriculum as necessary.
- Network with industry professionals and alumni to facilitate job placement opportunities and foster connections within the data science community.
- Run fun, boot-camp style courses, to teach people how to code and prepare them for entry-level positions leading to careers in the data analytics field
- Teach a full range of classes, including but not limited to the following topics: Intro to Statistics, Intro to Probability, Python/Pandas, Excel, SQL, Snowflake, Machine Learning and AI
- Work with adjunct instructors to identify interdependencies between courses
- Participate in articulation of career education activities
- Participate in scheduling of training offerings for programme

- Degree in Mathematics, Physics, CS and relevant disciplines
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a data science role, with a strong understanding of industry tools, techniques, and best practices.
- Minimum 2 years' experience building and delivering Snowflake data engineering solutions
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in a relevant field, preferably with a focus on adult or professional education.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage and motivate students.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R, and experience with machine learning algorithms, data visualisation tools, and statistical techniques.
- Experience in building data solutions using Python (pandas, PySpark, etc.)
- A good knowledge of relational databases and SQL and SQL analytics
- Experience of using Dbt, Dbt Cloud or similar tools for data transformations, modelling and queries
- Using technology, such as Power BI, to visualise and present data insight is desirable
- Demonstrable experience of using Microsoft Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
- Ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
