**Title: Senior Caseworker - Housing Support and Substance Misuse**

**Grade: Band D**

**Salary: £26,348 to £27,844**

**Hours: 37 hours a week (2 Year Fixed-Term Contract)**

The Housing Options and Wellbeing Team work to prevent homelessness and provide realistic options to address customer’s housing and wellbeing needs. We also work closely with our colleagues in Neighbourhood Housing, who manage a combined housing stock of approximately 6,700 homes.

This role is for a fixed term of 2 years and is required as part of a specially funded project, in collaboration with East Sussex County Council.

As well as experience in managing tenancies within the social housing sector or with transferable skills, you will have enthusiasm, effective communication skills, the ability to work well within a team, to support customers who have substance misuse issues, and a willingness to learn.

**Job Overview**

The work is varied and will include a wide range of tenancy management services for customers whose substance misuse is impacting upon their tenancy. You may be involved in mutual exchanges, successions, lettings and terminations. The role particularly includes tenancy sustainment, enforcement and estate management for those who have substance misuse issues. Officers will assist vulnerable customers and manage complex cases, raising safeguarding concerns and working with partner agencies to support tenants. Officers can also support clients in PRS, as well as owner-occupiers, as directed.

As a senior caseworker you would act as first point of contact for the tenants on all matters relating to their tenancy and support needs; helping us to provide a sensitive, pro-active and comprehensive service to tenants across our management remit.
