**The Aim of the Role**:
To provide an extensive range of professional surveying services to a range of Registered Social Landlord clients, individually and as part of a wider team. Representing Storm Tempest in a professional client focussed manner ensuring that projects are consistently delivered efficiently and effectively, maintaining and developing client relationships. A driving licence and access to own vehicle are essential for this role.

**Specific Duties and Responsibilities**

1. Ensure projects are completed on budget and to schedule.

2. Advise clients about building / property issues including technical, financial, contractual, legal / statutory compliance, environmental, Building Regulations and conservation matters.

3. Understand building defect pathology, identify defects and provide advice about remedial work.

4. Advise on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction.

5. Advise on the preservation/conservation of historic / listed buildings.

7. Undertake Access Audits for DDA compliance.

8. Carrying out feasibility studies.

9. Advise on the health and safety aspects of buildings / construction.

10. Advise on boundary and rights of light disputes and Party Wall Act procedures.

11. Undertake a wide range of property surveys, including measured surveys and specific defect surveys.

12. Prepare AutoCAD plans and drawings, contracts, budget cost plans, reports and other documentation as required.

13. Manage projects and/or multi-disciplinary teams.

14. Understand and record life cycle costs of buildings and their condition.

15. Undertake contract administration and site supervision, maintaining good communication with contractors and site teams.

16. Produce Valuation Documents for contractors, monthly payment certificates and final account statements.

17. Issue Contract Administrator instructions for variations, non-completion and practical completion.

18. Complete Pre-Construction Information Packs and review O&M Manuals. Produce Health and Safety files at job completion.

19. Liaise with Building Control during projects.

20. Assist the Expert Witness Department as required.

21. Answer telephone calls appropriately and take responsibility for the call to ensure enquiries are dealt with effectively.

22. To proof read reports and checking.

23. To undertake research as required including summarising and preparing reports for Directors.

24. Maintaining and updating projects, including work flow and invoice preparation.

26. To ensure professional practice is carried out to the highest standards.

**Other Duties**

27. Attend training courses and seminars as directed.

28. Comply with, monitor and contribute to maintaining the company’s Quality Assurance standards.

29. To ensure that equal opportunities and equality and diversity policies are understood and adhered to.

30. To ensure that health and safety arrangements and policy are understood and adhered to.

31. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post, in various locations nationwide which may include regular overnight stays away from home, that may be required to service projects.

32. To attend the Head Office in Tyne and Wear as required for business meetings and training, which may include overnight stays.

33. Undertake all duties in accordance with company and professional regulations, policies, practices and procedures.

**Person Specification**:
34. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide information and service to a wide range of internal and external contacts.

35. Credible knowledge and competency in the use of Microsoft packages, databases and web-based communication tools e.g. Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

36. Excellent organisational skills.

37. Friendly, sociable, and excellent manner essential.

38. Ability to be flexible, including a mixture of home-working and office-working. Surveyors will not always be in the office for face-to-face contact.

39. RICS Accredited Building Surveying Degree.

40. Basic AutoCAD skills.

41. A willingness to learn and be part of a team

42. Driving licence required.

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
