**Who are we looking for?**

**We are in search of a **Learning Support Assistant* to join our Education Centre Based in Middlesbrough. The role is to assist and support teaching staff in delivering the **Landscape Maintenance curriculum.**

**What will I be doing as a Learning Support Assistant?**

A Learning Support Assistant plays a critical role in creating a positive learning environment to support learners in achieve their goals. You will ensure that learners receive high quality support to enable them to make good progress from their starting points.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

- Actively engage and motivate learners in decisions that affect them whilst supporting the delivery of tailored programmes that cater for the specific needs, interests, and abilities of each individual learner.
- Assist teaching staff in providing group and 1-2-1 support to ensure learners achieve their goals and meet academic targets.
- Assist teaching staff in their delivery, preparation and planning of resources for lessons and displays.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff and the rest of the staff team on progress of learners against targets set including qualifications and pastoral support needs.

**Requirements for this role**:

- Professional experience in landscaping, outdoor work or general gardening experience is essential.
- Level 2 English and maths is essential.
- A driver’s license is desirable.
- An Enhanced with Barred Lists DBS check is essential.
- Previous teaching or learning support experience within an education setting is desirable.

**We are looking for the following skills/attribute**:

- Excellent organisational and planning skills - Organise work to meet targets and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work as part of the wider landscape maintenance team.
- Communicating to a high standard at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
- Calm and objective when facing problems including dealing with challenging behaviour from learners.
