You will work as part of the wider Cellular Pathology Team (Biomedical Scientists and Consultant Pathologists) following Standard Operating Procedures to carry out all secretarial tasks. This will include typing accurate histology reports ensuring that they are distributed to their intended recipient within agreed turnaround times. We ensure material for genetic testing and expert second opinion is packaged appropriately and sent to the appropriate lab/Trust, keeping an accurate and updated record of sending/report receipt.

We provide results and information to other healthcare professionals on request and liaise with HM Coroner to arrange post-mortem examinations and produce final reports. We provide minute taking for laboratory meetings as required. These activities involve frequent utilisation of Microsoft Word Packages and the Laboratory Information Management System
