Orka Financial is recruiting for an Accounts Supervisor to join their clients growing finance team based in Princes Risborough the role will oversee daily transactions (e.g. accounts payable/receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations) to ensureintegrity of accounts, accurate and timely payment of suppliers and supporting credit control.
The Accounts Supervisor will led and mentor a small finance team being a key member of the finance department.
- Manage and develop a small finance team
- Support the Finance Manager/Management Accountant in managing PO accruals.
- Review and approve new supplier requests. Oversee/carry out credit checks on suppliers.
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with suppliers.
- Reconcile purchase ledger to P/L control account on the nominal ledger
- Assist and train staff on raising purchase orders and resolve any queries arising.
- Ensure accurate posting of nominal coding, transaction/delivery dates, etc.
- Review tolerance exceptions and ensure override is approved appropriately
- Ensure all invoices are posted onto the purchase ledger in a timely fashion.
- Ensure all expenses (including credit cards) are posted accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Check nominal and VAT coding, authorisation of invoices and match to purchase orders using the invoice register.
- Review supplier statement reconciliations.
- Review weekly BACS payment run.
- Monitor terms of trading to ensure payments can be made promptly and credit is taken where available.
- Ensure all reporting is accurate and, where appropriate, communicated to senior management on a timely basis.
- Ensure adherence to the Finance data retention policy.
- Significant experience of maintaining purchase and sales ledgers including exposure to credit control

- Salary £33,000 - £35,000 - hybrid working model
