We have an opportunity for a Highly Specialist SLT with clinical specialism to join the
Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Team, primarily working with pre-school and school aged children and young people. The post holder will take a highly specialist role within the team with responsibility for children with identified complex needs and social communication difficulties co-existing with SLCN.

**Main duties of the job**
- To provide an effective and efficient speech and language therapy

service to children with communication and/or swallowing difficulties. This post is within the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Team
for pre-school and school aged children and young people.
- The post holder will have highly specialist knowledge from working with pre-school and school aged children and young people, across all

clinical areas, including children and young people with additional
needs.
- The post holder will be required to take a lead in managing a highly

specialist caseload, in these areas (above), and duties will include
assessment, diagnosis, therapy (both group and/or individual, as
appropriate), planning therapy programmes and discharge of clients.
- To provide support for other members of the Paediatric Speech and

Language Therapy Team including line managers, therapists and
assistants.
- To be able to remotely prioritise referral, review and advice requests as part of the School age Triage Team; to include providing advice and/or sign posting to schools and families as appropriate.
- To co-ordinate and support research projects within the Paediatric

Speech and Language Therapy Department

**Essential criteria**
- Degree in SLT
- Relevant experience working with School Age and Preschool Children
- Relevant up to date training

**Desirable criteria**
- Previous experience of service development
- Previous experience of leadership
- Masters level qualification
