We are looking for Operatives to join our highways team in Oxfordshire to undertake duties associated with the maintenance and construction of public highways maintained by the Highway Agency. You will cover our Drayton depot, with expectations to travel in the surrounding areas to carry out work where necessary.

**Your duties & responsibilities as a Highways Operative will be**:

- Undertaking out of hours, winter maintenance and emergency works
- Working on Highways furniture, equipment and similar fixtures (e.g. erection, maintenance, fixing and/or dismantling)
- Being trained to operate all the appropriate plant and equipment necessary for the required disciplines for maintenance and drainage on Highways and Network
- Taking responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge
- Where appropriate providing direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives

**We are looking for**:
**Essential**:

- Clean Driving Licence
- A commitment to Health and Safety
- Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy
- Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weather - you will be required to assist in Winter Maintenance duties

**Desirable**:

- New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) Operative Accreditation
- LGV Class C driving licence / HGV licence, however, whilst we provide training, you must be able to gain your licence within 6 months of joining Milestone Infrastructure due to the contractual needs of the service
