**About Us**

Envar is a producer and supplier of high quality soil improver, woodland garden mulch, wood chip and biomass. We operate green waste composting sites across England with sites in Surrey, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire and West London as well as our flagship site in Cambridgeshire where we also process food waste. In addition to composting Envar also recycle coffee grounds.

**The Role**

As a workshop-based Welder and Fabricator you will be required to execute all welding jobs and to assist the workshop team in maintaining equipment, machinery and plant.

This position is based at our St Ives facility, in Cambridgeshire. We operate a large fleet of both mobile and static processing equipment for both composting and biomass production. Machinery includes both electric and diesel-powered sorting equipment and shredders. The main purpose of this role is to customise lines and machinery as well as hard-facing equipment and repair recycling plant, new equipment and process lines.

**Responsibilities**
- Carry out MIG/ARC welding tasks accurately and to a high standard
- Highlight any potential risks or errors prior to fabrication.
- Operate equipment safely and according to Safe Working Procedures and Risk assessments at all times.
- Examine work completed for any defects.
- Execute jobs and tasks to specification and fabrication/engineering drawings as required.
- Assess task, equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications to ensure appropriate welding methods.
- Monitor equipment for appropriate usage and temperature.
- Monitor work environment for hazards and maintains healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation.
- Assist with supporting General Operatives in preventative maintenance checks, services and general maintenance/repairs of fleet vehicles, trailers, related equipment and components.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Provide occasional support to other sites.

**About You**

Hours are 0700-1700 Monday Friday with occasional Saturday mornings when required.
