Joining a large I.T Team, you will be one of the Platform and Infrastructure Engineers where you will be accountable for the infrastructure, modernisation & maintenance of a UK wide multisite organisation, ensuring the team are delivering the required serviceand operational levels. You will be working with various service management teams throughout the organisation, delivering technical expertise to ensure all platforms and infrastructure meet the current & the future performance needs, supporting other IT Teamsfrom 1st line support through to projects to deliver systems that enable the business growth & modernisation.
This is a hands-on technical position where you will be one of the technical leads who keeps abreast of current and emerging technologies & practices, has knowledge across a wide spectrum of related IT Standards (ISO 27001, ITIL, Prince2 etc etc) and experiencewith on-prem, hybrid and cloud systems is a must.
Technologies & responsibilities
1.Firewalls - SD-WAN, VPN, log troubleshooting, security, certification. Preferably Forcepoint firewall management.
2.Networking - (routing, VPN, tagging) in particular with HP and Dell switches.
3.Knowledge of web service practices - public website security, certificates, reverse proxies.
4.Azure setup and/or migrations - e.g. Exchange on-prem to Exchange online and AD authentication methods.
5.Exchange experience - DAG, monitoring, maintenance, roles.
6.Dell hardware management and storage solutions.
7.Experience working inside a data centre.
8.Network discovery solutions.
9.Monitoring solutions such as PRTG and Grafana.
10.Virtualisation solutions such as VMware.
11.Backup/restore solutions such as Veeam.
12.Full Windows Domain experience - Active Directory, Roles, DNS, DHCP.
13.Understanding of importance of ITIL process - Strategy, Design, Transition, Operation and CSI.
14.Soft skills to successfully portray information between those technically minded and end-users or business leads.
15.Demonstrable grasp of accurate information gathering and documentation.
16.Demonstrable troubleshooting skills such as working with Support teams and ticketing system.
