Our client, a global leader in the creative promotional merchandise sector and one of the largest promotional product suppliers in the world is now seeking an ambitious Senior Management Accountant to join their European finance team based out of Manchester,UK.The role reports into the Finance Business Partner and will have direct line management of 1 staff member.The role will be heavily focused on the preparation of sales and margin information, in-depth analysis and reporting and supporting non-financestaff for relevant sites on all aspects of finance.

**Responsibilities**:

- Preparing and issuing sales & margin financial data for the month end process for their German entity, taking responsibility for follow up and resolution of the finance related action points arising during the monthly reviews of the figures.
- Understand all aspects of the sales & margin for the clients that you are responsible for, working closely with financial reporting team to ensure consistent information is distributed to the business. Ensuring all complex areas of financial results areclearly understood, maintained, reported, calculated in line with contracts
- Maintain full financial control on all balance sheet areas for designated site. Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations regularly completed & reviewed, with all risks and opportunities understand and ageing issues dealt with timely.
- Assistance with preparing sales and margin budgets and quarterly reforecasts, working in conjunction with the sales teams, and Finance Business Partner.
- Responsibility for monthly customer reporting to the Account Management teams. Particular emphasis on optimising investment in working capital.
- Be the first point of contact for stock investment approvals. Managing, assessing, and approving the requests based on stock and sales knowledge per client.
- Attendance & proactive participant at monthly site-specific Account Group meetings as finance representative. Responsible for follow up of action points arising from these meetings.
- Undertake monthly balance sheet reviews ensuring reconciliations are accurate and complete, and aged items are reviewed and reduced.
- Work with the Finance Business Partner to ensure that key stakeholders receive timely information and reports in conjunction with monthly deadlines.
- Provide day-to-day assistance to staff on system and finance related queries.
- Work pro-actively with the account managers to ensure that any financial ad hoc reporting for customers is done via the Finance team in an efficient, effective, and professional manner.
- Assist the Finance Business Partner with adhoc projects and reporting.
- Liaison with auditors in relation to the areas you take responsibility for.
- Responsibility for the day-to-day management and ongoing development of 1 direct report, and providing review and challenge of the outputs prepared by direct reports.
- Perform the role with a customer-focused outlook, always aware of who the internal customers are and striving to provide the best possible service to them.

**What you’ll need**:

- Experience in a fast-moving finance environment is essential.
- The position requires someone who is highly computer literate, with excellent Excel skills.
- Effective organisational ability and time management skills are crucial, and you must be able to work to tight deadlines.
- Teamwork is essential in this role therefore you must be team orientated and able to maintain positive and supportive relationships with your colleagues.
- Experience in a products based business.
- Staff management experience of a small team
- German language would be beneficial, as would experience of working in a European Finance Team
