**The Role**
- transporting non-emergency patients to/from NHS hospitals and treatment centres
- you will be driving non-emergency ambulances and/or specially-designed ambulance cars
- duties involve helping patients on and off stretchers; pushing wheelchairs; some occasional assisted-lifting of patients, helping them up and down stairs
**Training**
Full training provided and paid for by employer.
A mixture of online training and practical training in-person.
**Salary**
- a competitive hourly rate starting at £11.70—we pay better than most private ambulance companies in the UK
**Uniform provided.**
**Working Hours**
- Weds/Thurs/Fri
- approx 30hrs per week
- 12pm-8pm shifts
- 2hrs paid travel time to/from the hospital at which you’ll work
- potential to work other days, if you wish
- occasional weekend availability desired but not essential
**Area of work**
- You must be within 30mins of Huntingdonshire, where we’re based
- You will be working at one of our hospitals in the East Anglian region
- full UK manual car driving licence with a minimum of 2 years driving experience (maximum 6 points)
- confident driver
- fluent speaker in English
**Experience in following settings desired**:
- ambulance transport
- hospital
- care home
- anyone with first aid training
**Disclosure and Barring Service**
You will need to successfully pass an Enhanced DBS check before you can carry out your duties. This is a legal requirement for all employees working with vulnerable people.
**The Care Quality Commission (CQC)**
The CQC is an NHS body that regulates private ambulances. We are a CQC-registered company and as such we abide by the CQC principles: Caring, Responsive, Effective, Well Led and Safe.
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: £11.70-£12.25 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
