Job Introduction
To develop and manage quality management systems for the site, support and manage technical related activities on site, to assist achieving and maintaining BRC A grade certification. Enhance implementation QMS standards across food production and storage areas on a day-to-day basis to ensure that the highest technical standards are achieved for all foods produced at Bigham’s.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Develop, document and manage QMS for all processes ensuring compliance to BRC standard
- Complete a QMS GAP analysis against the BRC standard
- Internal audits - Develop and manage internal auditing programme.
- Product launches - prepare and manage maintenance of production kitchen paperwork as required
- Pest Control champion - manage all aspects of site pest control in compliance with BRC / retailer policies.
- Calibration - maintenance of risk assessments, schedule and logs
- Lead HACCP validation
- Generating summary reports for validation testing.
- Carry out CCP assessments
- Allergen management
- Taste panel and positive release - manage risk assessments, scheduling, ordering, taste panel sessions, reporting and trending.
- Facilitate/support BRC audit and other 3rd party audits/visits
- Coordinate, generate and deliver (if required) technical specific training
- Document control (shared)
Main Responsibilities
**Production**
Ensure appropriate quality management systems are in place to assure the food produced by Bigham’s meets food safety legislation, BRC standards and customer technical requirements.
Complete regular monitoring of Bigham’s QMS’s, ensuring appropriate records are kept and implementing improvement actions where necessary.
Champion technical excellence in all areas by working collaboratively with the production team to ensure consistently high standards of food quality.
Support embedding of QA approach across the production kitchen
Support GMP audits and ensure continuous improvement by providing training support.
**Other duties**
Work within the company’s rules and policies, introducing procedures where appropriate in conjunction with technical documentation requirements.
Adhere to the health and safety policy of the company and work within it’s guidelines to ensure personal safety of staff at all times.
Involvement in the overall management of the business which may involve participation in other areas of functionality or responsibility.
Assist in technical cover and support on site if required
Be involved in company cross functional projects
**Experience**
Experience of managing a quality management system in a technical or quality management role within a BRC A grade accredited chilled food organisation
Experience of writing and implementing existing and new quality management procedures, completing risk assessments and
Experience of training and embedding new ways of working
**Qualifications**
Food Science or Technology Degree qualified (or similar)
Food Safety and HACCP qualifications
