As a proficient expert at Attica Studios, you will play a crucial role in a committed and exceptionally talented team dedicated to crafting premium new designs and bespoke furniture, emphasising sustainability and customer satisfaction. **Position**:
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled
**Furniture Maker** to join our team, on a
**full-time 6-month contract (40 hours per week), **with the possibility of extension and advancement as the company expands.
**Location**:
The role will be located at our Horsham Workshop in Partridge Green, West Sussex (RH13 8AU).
**Compensation**:
**Requirements for the role: (mandatory)**
- Right to Work in the UK is a mandatory and non-negotiable eligibility criterion
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
- Be willing to comply with company guidelines for Health and Safety, Confidentiality, and Equality & Diversity,
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Employ various techniques to shape, cut, assemble, and finish wood pieces.
- Operate and maintain woodworking machinery and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Create build plans for bespoke and production furniture based on SketchUp renders.
- Breaking down furniture and sorting wood for planing and joining.
- Processing wood for recycling according to project specifications.
- Jointing and assembly of furniture pieces and wooden home decor accessories
- Ensure structural integrity and full functionality of each piece.
- Ensure precision and attention to detail in all woodworking tasks to achieve the desired outcome.
- Ensure that deadlines are met, tasks are appropriately planned and completed with the required quality and within the specified timeframes
- Assisting with furniture packing for deliveries, if necessary.
**Qualifications/Skills**:
- Demonstrated expertise as a skilled fine furniture artisan.
- Proven expertise in crafting and handling diverse wooden components.
- Working knowledge of furniture making and wood crafting techniques and materials.
- Have excellent attention to detail and ability to perform meticulous and intricate craftwork.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing process optimization.
- Have a wealth of experience cutting and shaping a variety of different joints.
- Functional knowledge of SketchUp software.
- Flexible approach to working time to meet deadlines/peak workloads.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Be proficient in using and setting up hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery for precise functions.
- Be punctual, hardworking, and reliable.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to produce high quality work to high standards in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
