Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team to deliver preventative support to connect with autistic individuals, support their needs and prevent crisis.

Supporting autistic adults who do not have a learning disability involves a multifaceted approach that focuses on understanding autism, addressing healthcare needs, and fostering emotional well-being.

This role involves delivering autism-specific self-awareness courses in group settings, providing low-level preventative support for both emotional and physical needs, delivering training to mental health professionals, and managing social spaces where autistic individuals can connect and engage with peers in a supportive environment.

Personal qualities and skills:

- Prior experience in delivering support services to autistic individuals or working in mental health setting is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
- Empathy and understanding towards the needs of autistic individuals.
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the role and the individuals being supported.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with individuals on the autistic spectrum
- A calm and helpful nature with a high degree of emotional intelligence
- The ability to work alone as well as being an active team member.
- The ability to be self-motivated and take the initiative
- Good organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise work and deliver agreed objectives quickly and effectively
- IT literacy, be confident using Microsoft Office, CRM systems and interactive platforms like Microsoft Teams This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of autistic individuals.

The role requires you to:
Promote the emotional and physical wellbeing of autistic adults.

Understand the importance of parity of esteem in healthcare.

Get to know and build trust with the people who access our service.

Support autistic adults to understand their autism and what it means to them. Support autistic adults to identify their own emotional and physical healthcare needs.

Support autistic adults to find their voice and be their own self advocate.

Provide low level preventative support to those who need it.

Signpost and support individuals to access additional help when necessary.

Support other services to have a better understanding of autism and how to support autistic need.

Maintain an active caseload.

Manage risk proactively.

Keep accurate records using our CRM software.

Maintain confidentiality for our clients.

Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the service, including the collection of data and case studies.

Promote our offer to stakeholders and build relationships with key individuals and services for the benefit of the people we support.

Offer post-diagnostic support tailored to the unique needs of each individual.

Pay: £23,400.00 per year
