Manchester, United Kingdom Allpress Espresso Full time

We’ve been roasting speciality coffee for over 30 years. From humble beginnings as a little coffee cart in Auckland, NZ, Allpress has evolved into a sophisticated brand that stands for flavour and service. Right from the start three core principles have formed the backbone of our business - People, Flavour and Innovation.

We are united in our genuine care for each other, our customers, and our belief in what we do. We need great people who will bring their imagination, skills and most importantly, their passion to our business.

**About the role.**

We are currently looking for an experienced Kitchen Leader to support our brand-new Manchester Café space. Leading the kitchen space in our new cafe, the Kitchen Leader oversees the smooth and quality operation of our kitchen as well as introducing some unique dishes to our menu.

Our Manchester café has a menu that is fresh and simple, consisting of delicious sandwiches, classic breakfast and lunch dishes and a selection of sweets and cakes. We will prepare most things on-site, in an open kitchen and using the best seasonal ingredients we can get our hands on. This role will involve creating a menu development plan in collaboration with the Café Manager to create new exciting dishes focusing on seasonality, quality and aligning with our Allpress food standards.

Previous kitchen experience is essential, as is attention to detail, high level of communication, a knack for multi-tasking and a willingness to get things done. Working in a café environment can be unpredictable, so being able to keep cool under pressure is a must.

In this role, you will:

- Ensure consistent high standards of food preparation and presentation e.g. sandwich making, baking, fresh juice preparation.
- Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Financial ownership eg. full menu costings, updating supplier costing, ensuring margins are met, offsetting ad hoc costs.
- Setup, pack down, pot-wash and cleaning of food areas.
- Calendarised development plan for food, looking ahead 6 months in line with our Allpress food standards and consideration for seasonality and quality.
- Make sure any stock dates and orders are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are maintained in the space.
- Support our Cafe Manager with ad hoc duties.

**About you.**
- Have experience previously in a kitchen, leading and managing a space
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- High levels of communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Enthusiastic and a deep love for food, finger on the pulse of the Manchester food scene.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously to bring ideas to life.
- Infallible eye for detail.

This is a full-time role which means 5 shifts a week including weekends.

This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who already has hospitality experience and is looking to further their career in the coffee industry. We offer full training, great staff perks including EAP, Personal leave day allowance, good work life balance, a competitive salary, career development and a great company culture.

Details:
Hours: 5 days per week around 40 hours per week.

Days: Monday Tuesday-Sunday

Times: Our spaces open from 8am - 4pm Mon Tues to Fri and 9am - 4pm on Saturday and Sunday

Probation period: 3 months

Reporting to: Manchester Cafe Manager

**Salary**: £27,000-30,000 depending on experience.
- Why you’d like to work for Allpress

By becoming part of Allpress we offer our team:
