**Position: Senior Buyer**

**12 month FTC**

**Salary: £36,000 - £40,000**

**(37.5 hours per week)**

**Location: Normanton, Yorkshire - Hybrid working**

Grafton Recruitment is working with an established, market-leading client in their search for a **Senior Buyer**. We are looking for someone who understands**procurement,** who is **confident** in engaging **with stakeholders at multiple levels**.

To be considered for the role, you will have a previous management experience within a procurement function, contract management along with effective negotiation skills.

**List of responsibilities as a Senior Buyer**:

- Managing a team of 2 Buyers and 1 Assistant Buyer
- Support Cost reduction throughout the team to support the business objectives and targets
- Manage Stakeholder relationships across both internal and external stakeholders, e.g. Inventory
- Manage relationships with suppliers to maximise Savings and Commercial leverage
- Responsible for delivering savings in line with and that exceed the corresponding work plan that underpin the savings target
- Develop own knowledge and skills and provide information to others to help their development e.g. category or market area
- Develop detailed source plans for that category with our Contracting and Clinical colleagues
- Support our inventory colleagues with any supply related escalations
- Work with the contracting and clinical teams to develop and build procurement activities
- Develop strong plans to support the NHS sustainability agenda including the reduction / removal of plastics from the supply chain
- Strong management background
- Essential: IT literate (especially Excel)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail required
- Drive to achieve great results
- Commercial acumen
- Ability to work alongside the cross-functional teams when launching new frameworks
- Ability to manipulate data and extract relevant trends and information
- MCIPS desirable
