Smiths Equipment Hire Ltd are the Northwest's Largest Independent Equipment Hire company with 16 ‘Hire It Centres’ located across the region.
We supply all types of customers in all types of business, specialising in many types of equipment, including; plant and machinery to the construction and industrial sectors. A large fleet of delivery vehicles are able to supply almost any type of equipment that is requested.
**The main responsibilities of a Workshop Foreman are to**:
- Plan and allocate jobs to workshop staff on a daily basis
- Good understanding of plant maintenance schedules and test results
- Diagnose, repair and maintain the fleet of equipment.
- Attend breakdowns when required
- Ordering of Parts and administration of the purchase order process ,receipting goods in accurately, labelling stock, storage and/or distribution to workshop jobs / staff
- Stock control of plant & parts - correct levels via periodic checks
- Actively develop team members, acting as a Role Model, identifying training needs and liaise with Depot Manager
- Deputise, underpin and support for all the Workshop duties in his absence
- Review weekly and monthly workshop workflow reports - reward performers and challenge underperformers.
- Maintain and look to improve all Health and Safety standards for the depot
- Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to arrange calibration of equipment
**As a Workshop Foreman you must be**:
- Be able to prioritise workshop jobs too customer demands and seasons
- Customer centric
- Being calm under pressure
- Ability to multi-task
- Team building and leadership skills
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent IT skills
- **Driving Licence essential**
**Working hours**:Monday to Friday: 08:00am - 17:00pmand Saturday: 08:00am to 12:00pm on a rotational basis. Flexibility is required.
