Colmers ward is a very busy inpatient ward within a thriving community hospital. We have 24 beds specialising in mainly older persons rehabilitation where are nursing staff and the wider multi-disciplinary team provide patient centred care to a very high standard. We also focus on providing excellent end of life care and have recently received Gold Standard Framework Platinum Reaccreditation for this.

We are looking for a band 6 ward sister who will work collaboratively with our current ward sister, supporting the senior sister in ensuring that our team have the support and skills to provide exceptional care to our patients across both wards who is motivated to make a real difference with a caring and compassionate attitude excellent team-working skills, communication, and assessment skills.

We are a forward thinking and supportive multidisciplinary team. It is a very exciting time on Colmers ward with the development of many services at Dorset HealthCare we offer plenty of opportunities to develop your clinical and management skills.

To provide a high quality person centred approach to care delivery which always considers people’s safety, privacy and dignity.

To undertake assessment of patients / service users care needs, and develop programmes of care as part of the wider multi-disciplinary care team.

Recognise, assess and manage risk across the immediate and wider working environment and make appropriate decision autonomously ensuring statutory requirements are met

To provide advice to patients/ service users and carers regarding their care.

To plan, implement and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings.

Provide supervision, development. mentorship, and clinical support to students and junior staff in the team.
