Human Resources Advisor - Maternity Cover

In this role, you'll be pivotal in fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance, assisting the HR Manager with acquisitions, and promoting employee growth through learning and development initiatives. Your influence will be temporary, but the impact you make will leave a lasting mark on our employees, managers, and the organisation as a whole. This role has the potential to be extended beyond the initial period, or made permanent.

The role:

- Act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and issues.
- Provide clear, consistent, and empathetic guidance to employees on HR policies and procedures, fostering a positive workplace environment.
- Manage and resolve employee disciplinary, conflicts, and grievances in a confidential, impartial, and professional manner, ensuring fair and equitable outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with line managers to offer comprehensive support in people management.
- Assist line managers in handling performance issues, disciplinary actions, and coaching, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance on employee development, performance reviews, and goal-setting to enhance team productivity and engagement.
- Stay current with and ensure strict adherence to all relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with the HR Manager to support various HR-related aspects of acquisitions.
- Support other HR activities as needed.
- Actively participate in ongoing HR projects aimed at improving HR processes, policies, and systems.
- Assist the team with rolling out and implementation of the 2024 L&D strategy.

To succeed you will need:

- 3-5 years’ professional HR experience
- Ability to allocate priorities and reschedule work in a changing and multisite environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to deal both with tenacity and empathy as appropriate
- Good working knowledge of implementing and communicating HR legislation and best practice
- Highly organised, with the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, and highly flexible, able to respond to and manage changing priorities.
- Experience of working within a manufacturing / construction / engineering background with field based employees would be a distinct advantage.
- Ability to develop collaborative working relationships and communicate complex concepts with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
- Computer literate
