**Field Ecologist/ ECOW**

**Location**:office inGrangemouth, Scotland; site work in Fife

**Duration**: Full Time or Part Time, Fixed term - March to August incl. potential to start mid February

Due to our continued growth we are looking for an experienced field ecologist/ ECOW with a proven track record in ecology, nature, conservation, and biodiversity to support IKM from March 2023 to August 2023. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to further their career and gain more experience in these specialist markets.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Ecological surveys and assessments including breeding bird surveys
- Producing high-quality ecological reports and method statements.
- Ecological Clerk of Works duties and project management.
- Adhering to Species Protection Plans.
- Mentoring junior staff.
- A minimum of 2 or more years previous experience preferably in an environmental consultancy.
- Considerable experience in protected species surveying, ECOW and ecological assessment.
- In-depth knowledge of ecology, legislation, survey techniques, mitigation, and an enthusiasm for keeping up to date with best practice and new technologies.
- A full UK driving licence is essential
- Be a member of a relevant professional institution e.g. CIEEM

The role will require some travel and/or out of hours work.
