As a member of our dynamic procurement service, managing a spend of millions of pounds on supplies and services each year, you’ll be at the heart of it.

**The opportunity**

You’ll help us drive forward policy and strategy in procurement, category management and contract management to ensure we deliver a continuously improving, customer-focused service. Covering everything from research to training, business development to communications, you’ll not only provide vital guidance, you’ll challenge established ideas and generate new solutions to achieving value for money. Your role will include collating commercial management information and other governance reports, as well as supporting the use of IT systems such as electronic tendering. In short, you’ll ensure our service has all the support they need to offer trusted advice to managers across the organisation.

**The person**

Your background could be in the private or the public sector, but you’re likely to have sound experience of supporting procurement teams. Knowledge of areas such as sourcing, tendering, contracts and policy-making is important. Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential and you’ll have a good working knowledge of relevant software. Highly organised, you’re able to plan, forecast and monitor performance. You also have strong written and spoken communication skills.
