**Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of St Andrew’s CE (VA) Infant and Junior Schools**

The Federated Governing Board of St Andrew’s CE (VA) Infant and Junior Schools is looking to appoint two enthusiastic, hard-working Caretakers to be responsible for the security, cleaning and maintenance of the Junior School site. It is important to us that you are willing, flexible, and diligent, take pride in your work and are willing to learn the necessary skills for the job.

We are looking for Caretakers with handyperson/DIY skills, basic gardening experience, as well as excellent organisational and communication skills. The ability to be a good role model to our children and support the Christian ethos of the school is essential, as is the ability to work alongside an enthusiastic staff team and deal professionally with all school members, as well as a range of contractors and suppliers. You will play a key role in ensuring the health and safety of our school community and keep comprehensive records of health and safety checks. Confident use of a range of tools and equipment is essential. You will be proactive in ensuring and contributing to the security and cleanliness of the site and responding to emergency repairs will be part of the daily routine, alongside meeting deadlines and prioritising a varied workload. You will be expected to ensure a high level of cleanliness and hygiene are achieved and maintained throughout the site.
