The V&A are seeking 2x Documentation Officers to join the Collections Management Department.
The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance, and the custodian of an extraordinary and extensive collection spanning decorative and applied arts. Working with and for our visitors, we are changing how our extensive Collections are cared for, seen, understood and enjoyed.
The Collections Care and Access division is responsible for the care and management of the collection across multiple V&A sites, including South Kensington, Young V&A, and V&A East in Stratford, as well as the V&A Wedgwood Collection in Barlaston, and staff are expected to work across multiple sites as required. The division is made up of the following departments: Conservation, Technical Services, Collections Management, Photography and Collections Access.
The Collections Management department is responsible for the delivery of Accreditation, collections related standards, policies and processes, location control, management of collections information and systems, and supporting and enabling improved access to information about the collections. We are recruiting two Documentation Officers to support users of our collections systems. Both posts will work on our internal Collections Management helpdesk and provide training to staff and volunteers.
One post is fixed term until 31 October 2025 and will also be responsible for supporting the acquisition process and some collection audits.
The second post is a permanent role and will also be responsible for supporting and training users of our Digital Asset Management System.
