**About Us**:
Redford Court is one of 13 specialist brain injury centres located in England, Scotland and Wales and run by the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT), part of The Disabilities Trust. Featured in the Louis Theroux TV documentary
_A Different Brain_, Redford Court is specialist rehabilitation centre which provides care and support to 24 adults with acquired brain injury and complex needs.

**About the Role**:
In this role you will support the clinical team, as well as supervising and developing a team of rehabilitation support workers, to provide a seamless service for service users. You will support the general health and wellbeing of service users while contributing towards the planning and implementation of educative, social and leisure activities based on service users individual programme plan.

**Responsibilities**:

- To co-operate with others in enabling service users to care for their own rooms, clothing and other personal effects, including making beds and changing bed linen. This may include the support required for safely disposing of dressings or sharps.
- To co-operate with others in enabling service users to enjoy their meals and drinks, taking full account of their wishes and preferences. This may include assisting clients with choice, monitoring and recording fluid intake, feeding and administering nutritional supplements as instructed.
- To develop a knowledge and understanding of service users needs and aspirations to enable them to effectively communicate their choices and intentions. Similarly enabling service users to understand and communicate with others.
- To facilitate service users mobility both in the Centre, their home and within the community. This may include the positioning of service users in bed, encouraging mobility and supporting exercise.
- Where necessary carry out clinical tasks which may include: Venepuncture, collection of blood/blood products, Administration of PEG feeds and medication via PEG’s,Oral Suction, Basic dressings, following the Nurses recommendations.
- Contribute to the Nursing Assessment of Service Users by undertaking and reporting the following observations and supporting the Nurse in Charge to ensure these are carried out in a timely manner and in accordance with the service user needs/medical teams request
- To co-operate with staff in enabling service users to achieve a purposeful life contributing to occupational, educational, social and leisure activities and developing programmes to meet these needs.
