Hays Technology are working in partnership with the University of Warwick, who are based in Coventry, to recruit a Product Manager on a permanent basis.
This is a Leadership role whereby you will be responsible for overseeing the transformation of the University's website as part of a defined change initiative. You will be the lead person responsible for delivering this major institutional strategic changeproject which aims to transform the University's website to a service, digital brand and customer-led digital presence that enables Warwick's ambitious 2030 Strategy.
In order to succeed, you will need a track record in defining and delivering digital change programmes, building and leading a dedicated team and working across business functions. You will have experience of operating effectively within a complex environmentand proven ability of providing great leadership to multi-disciplinary teams. You will need to interpret institutional requirements and translate these into a product vision setting an institutional strategy, aligning stakeholders and making sound day-to-dayjudgements on what will add greatest value for our customers.
You will have highly developed interpersonal and relationship management skills which will enable you to gain a clear understanding of the cultural challenges and be experienced in translating strategy and business need into key product deliverables. Longer-term,you will ensure Warwick's digital presence remains relevant, customer-focussed, and well managed with a clear roadmap for continuous improvement.
Main tasks & responsibilities:

- Lead product/service heads and institutional leadership to set product objectives aligned with high-level strategy, understanding strategic goals, market, and customer needs, to lead the definition and creation of ambitious product/service strategies andbusiness cases that articulate product propositions, and customer and business value.
- Overall responsibility for the development and ownership of a series of long-term, strategic product roadmaps across the product/service portfolio to ensure alignment with business goals and customer needs. Communication of product roadmaps to the relevantoperational teams, senior stakeholders and users, to build buy-in and alignment at all levels around the vision for the product or service. Leadership for translating the product strategy into detailed requirements for Strategic Change and Software Developmentteams, advocating and enabling user-centred research and design practices.
- Provide strategic direction to operational teams within the product or service portfolio, and the relevant product teams within the Strategic Change team and Development functions to inform strategic planning and build product delivery plans, as well as driveimplementation to ensure alignment with the product roadmap and timely, high quality delivery.
- Interface and mediate between highly complex and political competing needs and demands at all levels of seniority, including senior/executive leadership, to appropriately balance strategic goals with the operational needs of the business and a strong customerfocus.
- Horizon Scanning. Maintain leading edge expertise in sector trends, external drivers and markets, and developing best practice to build a body of insight on product/service performance, influence strategic direction, and enable evidence-based decisions onthe future of the portfolio.
In order to apply, you must have the following skills and experience:

- Considerable senior experience in Product Management.
- A strong understanding of user-centred design and a digital first approach.
- Professional qualification or experience in area relevant to the portfolio domain (Web/CMS Platforms/Digital Transformation).
- Demonstrable experience of building and maintaining complex senior stakeholder relationships, and leading and influencing at a senior level in a large, complex organisation.
- Considerable senior experience of delivering excellent services and affecting change in a complex environment.
- Experience of taking products and services from concept through to development and delivery, including experience of building business cases based on strategic organisational and customer/user needs.
- A passion for understanding customers' needs and excellent client relationship skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships across stakeholder groups, able to effectively influence and communicate across various business lines and units.
- Strong team leader, with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and demonstrate empathy to build collaborative working relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to articulate and promote customer and business benefits through active listening and influencing skills.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning ability.
- Ability to work flexibly on various complex and fast-moving activities simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical skills, judgement and problem-solving abilities, able to synthesise a large amount of customer, business, and market information into accurate product priorities.
