Construction Tutor

Blackpool, United Kingdom The Vocational Academy Full time

We are urgently seeking another tutor in construction to supplement our current team. You will be involved in apprenticeship training and on occasion, delivery of traineeships depending on your availability.

Your main role will be apprenticeship delivery. Although this is teaching, you will be more involved in coaching and mentoring your case load of apprentices through their apprenticeship. You will be working with apprentices on both a 1-2-1 basis and in small groups at our centre when needed.

Conducting site visits, mentoring and coaching the learner and collecting evidence will be a large part of your role. You will also deliver additional teaching to apprentices at our workshop facilities when they attend the centre (some apprentices attend once a week, others once a month depending on the apprenticeship and the employer).

We need a tutor who can deliver on the following:

- Carpentry and joinery
- Groundworks
- Bricklaying
- Roofing (desirable)
- Any other building trade relevant

This role is designed specifically for those who need to fit it around any current commitments within the construction sector they may already have. This is also suitable for those looking to either change career or need a new challenge after working in the sector for many years.

There is plenty of opportunity for progression through further training and taking on additional responsibilities should you choose to do so after working with us for a period of time. This is optional and we will be able to offer a lot more hours over the coming months should this be of interest.

If you do not already hold a teaching/assessing qualification, we are able to deliver this to you as part of your role as we are fully accredited to deliver teacher and assessor training. We are a supportive team and we always promote a strong team ethic where our workplace is a good nice to be.

Initially, this role is for 2-days per week and will increase soon. You are not expected to increase your hours as demand increases however, this is purely optional and we will utilise our existing team where needed.
