Sandwell, United Kingdom Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Full time

This is an exciting time to join a new service that works to avoid placement breakdown and/or hospital admission for people with a diagnosis of autism. You will help to promote a positive image of autism and will contribute to challenging outdated misunderstandings related to this spectrum of differences. The role will mainly involve people with mental health challenges and for those without a learning disability.

The position would be a great opportunity for you to make a positive difference, while also developing your skills and experience, both clinically and in terms of service development. This is an interesting field to work within and a particularly helpful choice for the start of your career because there is an increased recognition of how autism presents within various areas of mental health and accommodations that can be helpful. This would be really beneficial to have a good grasp of prior to clinical training.

You will be supported to develop biopsychosocial formulations of current challenges. It will also be important to be creative and flexible to establish relevant adaptations to approach that would be beneficial to meet the unique needs of each individual. Brief psychological interventions would be used prior to transfer to the community teams that you would liaise with to ensure helpful transitions and on-going support.

You will help to highlight opportunities for service improvement, assist with projects related to this development, and help to ensure that the voice of service users is central to any changes that are made by co-producing at all times.

Please get in touch if you would like to hear more about how this opportunity could work for you
