Shunter Driver - Days

At DHL eCommerce, we give our Drivers everything they need to enjoy the drive.
- A lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old. They’re a joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leather seats and many more optional extras to make sure you’re comfortable.

The job in a nutshell

Reporting directly to the lead shunter, daily duties will consist of but are not limited to
- Safely positioning trailers / vehicles in a timely manner as requested by the Control Room.
- Ensuring the yard area, including entry and exit points, vehicle wash, weighbridge, fuel

islands and walkways, are managed in order for both vehicles and pedestrians to move freely and safely within the yard area.
- Promoting best practice.
- Challenge and report on any non-compliance.

Drive company shunt vehicles in a safe and courteous fashion in accordance with the requirements of the site rules;
Report any vehicle accidents to the traffic office;
Report any mechanical defects;
To fuel vehicles and when required to undertake normal collection and delivery duties;
Take all responsible action to ensure the safety and security of vehicles, equipment and goods;
Carry out daily vehicle checks following procedure laid down;
To ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles between parking bays and loading bays

What you’ll need to join us
- Class 1 Driving licence
- Driver CPC qualification card
- A ‘can do’ attitude
- Previous shunting experience preferred
