**Trainee/Junior Estimator**

**P. Plunkett Tiling** **Contractors Ltd** are one of the leading commercial tiling contractors in the industry with a reputation for quality and dependability. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and proactive **Trainee/Junior Estimator** to join our team. As a **Trainee/Junior Estimator** you will be working under the guidance of our experienced commercial team, learning the process of taking client enquiries, generating tenders and handling further negotiations through to contract award.

**Responsibilities**:
As a Trainee/Junior Estimator, you will receive training on the following:

- **Precise Tendering**: Taking client enquiries and evaluating the full scope and nature of the works, allowing you to generate thorough and comprehensive tenders, ensuring all specifications and requirements are accurately captured.
- **Translation of Requirements**: Identifying and comprehending client needs, translating them into clear and understandable tenders from Architects drawings, bills of quantities and schedule take offs.
- **Client Relationship Development**: Cultivating positive relationships between Plunkett Tiling and its clients.
- **Safety and Compliance**: Observing safety rules and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment, and caring for the well-being of fellow employees.
- **Training and Collaboration**: Participating in training provided and collaborating within a team or working independently to fulfil the role's responsibilities.

**Essential Requirements**:

- **Effective Communication Skills**: Strong written and interpersonal skills for clear client and supplier interactions.
- **Numerical Accuracy**: High level of numeracy and accuracy for precise tenders.
- **IT Proficiency**: Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Excel and Word, to create professional documents. Other software packages are used and full training will be provided.
- **Collaborative Abilities**: Capability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet goals.
- **Driving Licence**:Currently holds or is working towards a full UK driving licence.

**Desirable Requirements**:
The following skills and experience would be preferred but not essential:

- **Construction or Estimating Experience**: Previous experience in construction or estimating roles.
