Marjorie Warren ward are general rehabilitation adult inpatient ward in Finchley Memorial Hospital, North Finchley. The Hospital is a beautiful new build surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens and open spaces with good access to local transport and easy parking facilities.

We have dedicated rehabilitation Multi-Disciplinary Teams consisting of Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dieticians, Speech therapist, Pharmacists, Activities Coordinators, Rehab Support Workers, Care assistants and Housekeepers. As a team, the aim is to support patients to regain function, confidence, self-respect and much more.

We are looking for a Healthcare Support Worker to be a part of the team in a challenging environment and to remain focused on enabling staff to deliver the Trusts core objectives of high quality patient care whilst supporting and developing the individuals within the team. The individual will need to be focused on the patient experience to ensure all patients will have a positive and comfortable stay in the ward. You will need to display excellent communication skills, and offer care in a kind and compassionate manner. You will be dynamic, innovative, hardworking, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. To provide a high standard of care for all patients on the ward receiving a period of rehabilitation ensuring comfort and dignity are maintained at all times.
- To support the ward team and patients to achieve successful rehabilitation outcomes by adopting and promoting an enabling approach to care.
- To work flexibly and be willing to work on other ward areas as required.

- To work under indirect supervision of the ward manager and undertake task and duties delegated by registered Nurses and Rehabilitation Support Workers.
- To work collaboratively with the nursing team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures.
- Nursing care duties include the following:

- washing and dressing
- feeding
- helping people to mobilise
- toileting
- bed making
- generally assisting with patients overall comfort
- Work with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Nurses and other members of the Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in facilitating the patient’s progression through the treatment programme, within the goals and protocols set out by the MDT team. General Rehabilitation duties will include:

- Progressing exercise/mobility programmes for patients, which may include some who have complex needs.
- Facilitating the use of mobility and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) equipment and wheelchairs.
