**GP Receptionist/Administrator**

We are currently looking for a friendly, professional and organised Receptionist/Administrator to join our friendly team. This is a part time position (25 hours per week) however, it is essential that applicants are flexible to cover for holidays/absences.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure an efficient front desk service is provided to patients and any other visitors attending the practice.
- Processing telephone requests for appointments, visits and general enquiries; ensuring calls are signposted correctly.
- Registering new patients and processing prescriptions.
- Data entry.
- Liaising with and responding to queries from a wide range of healthcare professionals (hospitals, pharmacies & district nurses and etc)
- Clearing and restocking consulting rooms regularly.
- General administration duties: filing, photocopying, scanning, data entry, support to clinical team.
- Organizing reception area, waiting room, stock room, leaflet dispensers and noticeboards.
- Opening and closing of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols.
- Maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Other administrative duties as and when required.

**Personal Specification**

**Qualifications & Experience**

**Essential**
- Studied to a minimum standard of GCSE or equivalent
- Experience of basic reception and telephone handling duties
- Experience of handling day to day office procedures

**Desirable**
- Experience of working in General Practice
- Experience of working in Customer focused environment
- Familiarity with Vision
- Experience working in an environment with high volumes of calls.

**Role Requirements**

**Essential**
- Demonstrate positive first impression over the phone and face to face to patients, carers and all other visitors/callers.
- Deal with basic prescription queries.
- Ability to remain calm, professional and courteous in a highly pressurized and stressful environment.
- Ability to undertake delegated tasks with ability to work on their own initiative.
- Ability to undertake trainings (as required) to meet the requirements of the role and the practice.
- Excellent team player
- Punctual and reliable

**Knowledge & Skills**

**Essential**
- Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection legislations.
- Good knowledge of following policies and procedures.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure.

**Desirable**

Knowledge of signposting and care navigation.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £7.49-£10.42 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
