Maintenance Operative

**Overview**:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a Maintenance Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our facilities and equipment. This is a vital role in our organisation, as you will play a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly.
**Job Summary**:
The Maintenance Engineer is to supply emergency breakdown to the 3 sites, also to complete planned maintenance where necessary.
**Key duties and responsibilities**:
To ensure that the equipment across the three sites is maintained and repaired in a timely manner to ensure the continuity of the business, and maximise the production opportunity
This may include electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC controlled systems. This is list is only a guide and not exhaustive
Provide out of hours support to the production management team and the duty Call Out Team, in accordance with the call out schedule
Provide corrective and preventative maintenance cover as required to fulfil the business objectives
Work to the desired shift patterns of the business
Installation of new equipment in accordance with current regulations. Desirable for 18th Ed.
**Communication**
Ensure that all stakeholders, internal and external customers are fully informed of the status.
Provide progress reports to the wider management team as and when required.
Consult with production management team to ensure maintenance provides the best possible service with mínimal levels of production disruption
**Administration**
Maintain accurate records (paper and/or electronic) of all maintenance issues, Planned Preventative maintenance (PPM), training, project plans, and updates.
Compile and submit competitive purchase order requests as required
**Planning an organisation**
Ensure that machinery repairs and maintenance are co-ordinated to enable the best position for maximum production and quality.
**Monitoring and Evaluation**
Analyse machine OEE performance figures and work with the wider production team to act and make improvements.
Monitor breakdown standards and put measures in place to make improvements wherever necessary.
Liaise with the Engineering department and ensure that any changes to processes are documented in the Standard Operating Procedures.
Ensure that the working environment is safe for the operatives and make adjustments where necessary.
**Health & Safety**
Work in a safe manner taking care for your own health and safety
Ensure that any health and safety issues that cannot be resolved are reported in a timely manner to either your Line Manager or Health, Safety and Environmental Manager.
Ensure that the working environment remains safe for yourself, colleagues, contractors and visitors
Ensure gangways are always kept clear from obstructions (e.g., Trucks, pallets, glaze tubs)
Ensure PPE & Tools are being maintained and treated appropriately (overalls stored in lockers and handed in for laundry on a weekly basis). Lost/damaged overalls reported to your Line Manager
Report immediately to your Line Manager if any of the following occurs:
- Unsafe practices
- Dangerous occurrences
- Accidents
- Near misses
**Environmental**
Ensure your work environment is safe, clean, and tidy.
Where possible break down waste streams and recycle as much as possible
Contain any spillages and report instances to Manager
Ensure that all water taps/hoses are not left running and that lights/machinery are turned off when not in use
Ensure the equipment and area is cleaned to a high standard at the end of shift or prior to shift handover
Comply with the environmental standard ISO 14001

Education & Qualifications
- Ed 18 Electrical (Desirable)
- This role covers a variety of services and systems. No specific qualifications are listed however a multi-skilled background with electrical bias is desirable (Desirable)
