We are looking for an Asset Investment Analyst to carry out analysis to transition Cadent networks to low carbon gas, ultimately ensuring Cadent gets to its net zero goal.

**About The Role**

The purpose of this role is to carry out analysis to transition Cadent networks to low carbon gas, ultimately ensuring Cadent gets to its net zero goal.

The role will be responsible for designing the requirements for a net zero infrastructure, along with supporting the creation of conversion and transition plans from methane to hydrogen/biogas/other low carbon alternatives. The role will undertake analysisto articulate different forecast demand scenarios for local and combined authorities spanning Cadent’s four gas networks; culminating in theoretical transition plans, including investment requirements for implementing the scenario.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Develop and support the future hydrogen demand modelling and analysis, to support Cadent’s strategy towards net zero
- Design net zero energy systems for each local network area - understanding the likelihood/probability of options for full hydrogen/low carbon gas conversion, blended or hybrid (with electricity) conversion or potential for full decommissioning of gas.
- Support the creation of detailed conversion plans for the transition of a network to low carbon gas - documenting the assets required, the sequencing of converting customers and forecast costs to implement.
- Support engagement with network investment planning teams to ensure short-term investment decisions do not impact the long-term future of the network.
- Undertake future gas demand scenario analysis to identify the potential customer numbers in each future.
- In each future demand scenario, demonstrate potential asset plan impact and support engagement with relevant stakeholders to raise awareness and discuss implications.
- Identify key outputs from scenario modelling into Strategic Asset Management Plan and Asset Class Strategies to ensure net zero considerations and requirements are captured formally to cascade to wider business.
- Identify key asset data information and system requirements for transition to net zero into the Asset Data Team.
- Support the business to meet its annual emissions reduction targets through the environmental incentive, or other means (biogas connections, pressure management).
- Test and update the analysis software to keep it relevant and inform users when required.
