The DWP Estates function ensures the smooth and efficient operation of this network on a day-to-day basis. We manage a private sector supply chain that delivers essential services such as security guarding, maintenance, property and leasehold, construction, cleaning and facilities management. Many of these services are business critical and we cannot safely open our offices without them.

Work will include working with various forms of data to identify sites with unusual or unexpected energy usage. Then liaising with the sites and various stakeholders in order to identify the reasoning and possible solutions.

**Key accountabilities**
- Support the development of energy management policies and processes in liaison with key stakeholders and monitor and report on progress made towards achievement of these policies.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that energy management services deliver value for money and best practice. Proactively manage relationships within the team, within wider DWP and with external stakeholders such as contractors and other Government Departments.
- Liaising with sites to assist with ensuring energy management practices are being followed
- Delivering feasibility studies, calculating savings, payback, and submitting proposals for Energy/Carbon reduction initiatives or projects.
- Support the development Energy/Carbon reduction strategies.
- Analyse and use a range of relevant and credible information from internal and external sources to support decisions presenting strong recommendations to the Utilities & Sustainability team in a timely manner, thereby enabling the team to develop reports to the senior leaders.
- Assist in the securing of grant funding and administer existing funding streams to support the delivery of energy management.
- Work with the Data and MI lead to manage databases and information to monitor energy consumption and identify areas for improvement and energy / carbon reduction across the estate.
- Support the wider Utilities and Sustainability team in managing projects which contribute to achieving our Greening Government Commitment objectives.
- Support wider team efforts and work closely with comms teams to ensure regular communications to improve energy management.
