Job Summary
We are seeking Multiskilled Operatives to fulfil diverse roles we have within our COAST team. Providing a multi-skilled service to multiple business sectors including Cargo, Cruise, Ferry and Marina, during our peak seasons.
We are looking to recruit 5 x part time vacancies with the opportunity to work flexibly to an annualised hours contract. Hours available average 29 hours per week and you must be available to provide 24 hour cover, and holiday is planned into your rota.
We are also looking to recruit 5 x seasonal fixed-term contracts (zero hours).
Starting asap for fixed term contract and mid April for annualised contracts.
Shift allocation will be based on operational requirements. In this role, you'll be expected to fulfil the mentioned job roles along with any additional responsibilities to support the organisation.

**Duties for this position will include**:

- Mooring securing vessels to the dock by tying/untying ropes (lines) to bollards
- Slinger/Signaller Attaching/detaching the load to and from lifting equipment initiating and directing the safe movement of the lifting equipment and load
- Forklift operators Manoeuvring goods around quayside and operational areas
- Passenger access Operating the ship to shore passenger access (airbridge)
- Baggage handlers Lifting luggage, assisting passengers to/from their vehicles
- Traffic Operatives - Acting as first point of contact for our customers, offering information and assistance with their journey through the port
- On occasions you will be required to cover for the Ground Controller

Skills and Qualifications

Previous experience with one or more of the above skills would be an advantage, but not essential as full training would be given
Be able to work a range of shifts including weekends, as required.
Physically active and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Have excellent communication skills.
Ability to deliver empathetic customer service in challenging situations
