The Estates and Facilities team at NNUH are responsible for managing the delivery of all Hard and Soft FM functions on site, in partnership with our PFI Partner and their FM Provider. They also provide FM support to all of our off-site properties.

The team are also responsible for delivering the Trust’s Capital Programme, both enhancing and adding to our already significant estate.

You will advise on all aspects of fire safety, fire prevention & fire safety training and as the Authorised Person for fire, take the lead in promoting fire safety throughout all Trust premises.

In tandem with the Trust’s Health and Safety lead, you will ensure that a fire risk management system is in place which meets the Trust statutory obligations with regard to fire risks, and highlight and develop action plans for any areas that have not been covered.

You will promote the Estates and Facilities’ departments overall aim to collaborate across the Trust, and professional boundaries, developing and embedding a robust risk management culture with a particular emphasis for fire safety.

- The post holder will liaise with enforcing authorities on technical issues and liaise with managers and staff on fire safety issues.
- Liaise with building owners and facilities management providers on matters of fire safety within the all Trust sites.
- To prepare, conduct and evaluate risk audits and surveys across the Trust in connection with fire issues in order to inform management of the risk profile. Where risk situations are identified consult and work in conjunction with managers with a view to reducing areas of risk
- To inform the Director responsible for Fire and the Health & Safety Lead Advisor of any high risks as they occur and ensure they are kept updated of meetings and subsequent action plans.
