**AGRREGATE SALES & WEIGHBRIDGE OPERATOR**

**Job Title Sales & Weighbridge Operative**

**Job Description **To staff weighbridge, assist with aggregate, decorative gravels and paving sales, stocks and orders.

**Reporting To Jonathan Evans - Managing Director**

**Place of Work Oswestry Yard, Radfords Field**

**Responsibilities**

To assist in the sales & administration of aggregate and yard sales as follows:

- Operating weighbridge and booking on the pc-based software system inbound and outbound loads with relevant material and weight
- Issuing weighbridge ticket and ensuring driver gets relevant copy
- Dealing with telephone and counter sales enquiries for aggregates, decorative gravels and paving for both the Oswestry and Shawbury Yards
- Assisting in planning deliveries out of both yards on the Hiab/Tipper HGV
- Greeting customers and drivers visiting the depot and providing a positive and proactive response to their enquiries
- Assist in maintenance of stock and tidiness of raw materials in yard
- Obtaining prices and placing purchase orders for yard stock
- When required assist customers with loading which following the relevant training will involve the operation of a telehandler
- Pay due regard for Health & Safety and HGV working time regulations always when carrying out all your work
- Assist in the management of regular stock checks for the depot
- Any other duties as requested by Management and to suit the needs of the business

**Qualifications/Qualities**
- Previous experience in yard/quarry/construction environment would be a distinct advantage to any applicant
- Must be IT literate - word/excel - training on weighbridge software provided
- GCE/O Level (or equivalent) Maths preferable
- Good communication skills, telephone manner and personable approach to all sales enquiries
- A team player but able to use initiative when required
- Happy to multitask in what is a busy and fast moving environment
- Flexible with a desire to contribute and succeed this position will attract a large element of training and so is a long-term position for the right applicant.

**Hours of Work**

7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday

Half an hour for lunch

Overtime and occasional Saturday morning if required by agreement

**Holidays**

21 days holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays

**Rate of Pay**

£11.00 per hour

Overtime and Saturday morning work if required will be paid at £15.00 per hours worked

Depot bonus scheme which pays £100 if monthly sales targets are met.
