**Job description**
**OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE**
The purpose of this post is to give full support to young people in obtaining Independent Living skills required to live independently safely. You will be working in a holistic approach with young people to support them into independent living. As part of this role you will be responsible for:
- Support with budgeting and finance management
- Advice and guidance around shopping and domestic skills
- Maintain education or seek further education
- Assistance in seeking employment opportunities
- Support with housing and benefit claims
- Liaise with Social Workers, Leaving and Aftercare Workers, Youth Offending Teams, Mental Health Workers, Health professionals and other professionals

**Information governance**
All Nudawn Housing and Support Services workers must follow the relevant confidentiality and privacy policies specifically adopted by the Organisation. Information relating to young people or clients, employees and businesses of the organisation must be treated in the strictest confidence and under no circumstances should such information be discussed with any unauthorised person(s) or organisations. All information collected, stored and used must comply with the Data Protection Act, the Freedom of Information Act (2000) and all relevant organisation’s policies. Breaches of confidentiality or information governance protocol may lead to disciplinary action.

**RISK MANAGEMENT**
You are required to contribute to the control of risk and use the incident reporting system to alert the organisation of incidents or near misses that may compromise the quality of services.
- Experience working with young people or other vulnerable people.
- NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care, working towards or above
- A full driving licence and access to a car is desirable
- An enhanced DBS check will be required
- Flexibility in their working approach and hours when required to cover sickness
- Empathetic approach but having the ability to instil firm boundaries and be confident to challenge behaviour when required.
- Ability to empathise and communicate with young people
- Positive role model for the young people
- Good computer skills
- Good report writing skills
