This is a wonderful opportunity to support adults and children arriving from Ukraine and staying with hosts in Dorset as well as providing support to our wider Early Help team. You will be part of our Early Help team, focussing on ensuring our guests arrive safely and have all they need to settle into life in Dorset, as well as supporting with other early help family work activities as required. **Please note this is a full time fixed term post until March 2024.**

**What you will be doing**:

- You will be supported by a wider Early Help team, experience a robust induction and ongoing workforce development opportunities alongside caring and passionate practitioners who, like you, are eager to make a difference for our Dorset residents. You will benefit from working in a demanding but supportive environment with opportunities to work as part of a multi-agency team. - The postholder will undertake welfare checks as part of our duties to provide support to adults and children arriving from Ukraine, to ensure they are safe and well in their host families and are connected to the communities they live in (e.g., GP registration, early years provision, school places, positive activities)
- Welfare checks will be undertaken for both adults and adults travelling with children
- The postholder may identify need of ongoing early help and will create an early help plan with the family to ensure they receive the right help at the right time
- Guests may experience housing moves and will require continued support

The postholder may also:

- Undertake 1:1, group, and outreach work
- Deliver direct work with children, young people, parents and families in the family home and other community locations
- Undertake whole family assessments and develop, deliver and monitor plans in partnership with families and other partners to improve outcomes for children
- Convene and attend team around the family meetings and reviews
- Use relevant case management systems, databases and business intelligence tools as directed by the Team Manager
- Act as a link officer for schools or settings to enable early conversations about those who may benefit from help and support
- Deliver evidence informed group work
- Facilitate access to positive activities
- Provide information, advice and guidance to children, young people and families
- Develop an understanding of the range of services and assets in the locality and share these with colleagues, partners, children, young people and families
- Take a proactive approach to the delivery of early help and support
- Co-work cases with other professionals including social workers
- Act as the lead professional for families, drawing on the skills and expertise of colleagues in the locality

**About you**:
You will need to be a caring and considerate person who wants the very best for children, young people and their families. You will be an excellent communicator, be able to organise your time well and willing to work around the needs of families.

Required by law, and/or essential to the performance of the role:
GSCE Maths and English or relevant equivalent qualification.
