Occupational Therapy Assistant

**Clinical**: Under the supervision of the responsible occupational therapist, deliver the individual or group interventions in line with occupation therapy care plans. To undertake tasks in support of occupational therapy staff as requested. To use a holistic approach to intervention, recognising clients mental health, physical, social and cultural needs and how these needs relate to and impact upon each other. Under supervision identify and select, with the client, appropriate intervention options which balance the interaction of risk, safety, user choice and independence.
To seek supervision from a senior occupational therapist to inform analysis and reasoning, when more complex needs became apparent. To maintain accurate and up to date documentation consistent with legal and organisational requirements. To progress the intervention to a satisfactory closure, evaluating outcomes with the responsible occupational therapist. To actively participate in supervision and appraisal using reflection and analysis to inform practice.
