**Job Description**:
We have been engaged by a national Civil Engineering contractor who, due to a period of sustained growth, have a requirement for an additional Site Agent to join their team on a permanent basis.

The business has been operating profitably for over three decades and benefits from continued workstreams from various valued clients.

Projects vary in nature and value, and the first job you will deliver is a new wastewater treatment plant on a green field site, in Canterbury.

Knowledge of Temporary works, sheet piles, trench boxes, steel fixing and shuttering would be beneficial.

This position would suit a Civils Site Manager, or an experienced Site Engineer looking to progress into management with greater responsibility.

Role & Responsibilities:
To deliver ongoing contracts, ensuring that they operate within cost, productivity, Quality and Health, Safety and Environment targets.
- Ensure contracts are delivered safely on time, within budget and to programme.
- Maintain a good relationship with clients to avoid disputes.
- Have a high level of commercial awareness related to the works.
- Assure that all work is carried out to company safety, environmental, and Quality standards and to regularly communicate with staff and operatives.
- Carry out Safety Audits as required by line management.
- Liaise with & manage sub-contractors to ensure their strict adherence of the company Health, Safety and Environment policy and Quality standards.
- Ensure that all operations carried out within your area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for safety of visitors, other members of staff and yourself.

Essential Criteria:

- Experience as a Site Engineer/Site Agent on civil engineering projects (preferably wastewater, but not essential)
- Appropriate knowledge of health and safety polices.
- Have good working knowledge of IT systems, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office & Microsoft Project Software.
- Practice of prioritising time critical work.
- Excellent communication and liaison skills.
