- Job description**Prevention Hub Researcher**

**Bedworth**

**Permanent Contract**

**Full Time**

**_ Salary (£25,758 - £27,690)_**

**Those currently eligible on the redeployment register will be given prior consideration.**

**Main Responsibilities**:
Research and analyse data in order to identify vulnerable victims, perpetrators of harm and repeats for both. Share information with Prevention Team staff for intervention techniques to reduce repeat threats risk and harms.

To produce written and statistical reports as required.

To work with partners and obtain relevant information to enable the identification and understanding of harms in terms of victims, locations and offenders. All in accordance with MoPI and Data Protection protocols.

Ensure that information is gathered in terms of our highest harm causes, repeat victims and problem locations and understand the underlying detail as to why problems may occur, to enable staff and officers to problem solve and reduce harms and demand.

To be a link to provide support and direction to districts around prevention measures based on researched recognised themes, emerging trends, and harms. Enabling districts to understand demands and the best ways to respond based on problem solving tactics, with collective Prevention Team knowledge.

Identify National and Regional crime trends which could and are impacting Warwickshire. Research new prevention techniques being employed Nationally and bring to the attention of the Prevention Team management.

Attend internal and external meetings to present case discussion to assist in the coordination of police / partnership resources by sharing data and recognising partnership working, and prevention techniques to address hotspot harm causes, emerging trends and issues of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour.

Ensure that demand related information, research, prevention advice, tactics and interventions are recorded, monitored and shared. Assist in the delivery of a live Prevention Page on the Intranet for staff to recognise current themes, trends, victims and offenders.

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

**Knowledge**:
Educated to A level/ NVQ level 3, or equivalent.

An understanding of Anti-Social Behaviour legislation, legal tools and powers.

Working knowledge of Police Information Management, the MoPI code of Practice, National and local policing objectives and the Data Protection Act.

**Experience**:
Significant experience of completing administrative tasks within a team environment and prioritising workload

Experience of multi-agency working

Proven experience in working with statutory and voluntary agencies

Experience of interrogating computer systems, conducting research and testing results for compliance.

Experience of record retentions and review.

Experience of working within strict protocols using sound analytical problem solving techniques whilst recording progress and maintaining an audit trail.

**Key Skills**:
Competent in the use of Information Technology, including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and databases and the ability to interrogate computer systems.

Proven ability to communicate both orally and in written form with a wide range of people and groups.

Proven ability to prioritise workloads, competing demands in a multi-site, multi-functional organisation.

Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
