**The Role**:
People Operations sits within the People and Transformation function, to influence both the customer and employee experience in a key area of employee engagement. Working collaboratively across P&T and the wider Council, People Operations proactively supports our workforce and the embedding of our People Plan. Providing a comprehensive service, the team is investing in new technology to better support our users and enable an empowered self-service and support function for Essex County Council (ECC).

The Recruitment Consultant Apprentice will work with the recruitment team, supporting with the day-to-day recruitment activity for the external services team, working in partnership with our clients to provide a tailored and bespoke service to meet their needs. Contributing to the attraction of temporary and permanent talent, with the objective of supporting ECC’s ambition to directly hire our own talent and maximise cost saving opportunities.

This role presents an opportunity to learn, whilst working towards a professional qualification.

**About You**:

- Ideally you will be educated to Grade C/4 in maths and English.
- Be committed to study the Level 3 Recruitment Consultant Apprenticeship standard.
- Have a good work ethic with the ability to deliver effective administrative duties.
- You will be well organised, reliable and able to meet deadlines, whilst appropriately handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as an ability to build and establish relationships. A good phone manner is needed along with a friendly approach.
- You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent attention to detail, a result orientated approach and continually seeking to improve.
- Have experience of working with IT systems including Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new systems.
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team.
- Experience in a working environment is helpful but not essential.
- Possess a positive, proactive and “can-do” attitude.

**Essential Requirements for the role**:

- Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and English (or equivalent), which is a Grade D/E or 2/3 to begin the apprenticeship.
- Ability to reach a Level 2 Functional Skills in both Maths & English by the End Point Assessment (EPA), if you do not already have this.
- Have the right to work and study in England.
- Have been ordinarily resident in the UK or EEA for three years before the apprenticeship start date.
