Security Dog Handler

Empire Security Services are looking for qualified general-purpose security dog handler to work on our site in Halesowen. Empire are a nationwide supplier of Security Dogs, we work closely with a wide range of clients and other organisations.

The site is manned 12 hours per night and we currently have a position on nights based on a 12-hour shift.

**Responsibilities of the Security Dog Handler**:

- Ensure the safety & security of staff & customers within working environment.
- Own dog and dog unit - all handlers are responsible for the welfare of their animals and of following good practice guidelines
- Act as a visual deterrent
- Liaising with clients
- Report writing
- Excellent English communication skills
- Smart, good presence and professional
- Reliable and dependable

**Handler Requirements**

To apply, applicants are required to have:

- Work ethics, the right attitude and be a team player
- Genuine understanding of their canine partners needs/welfare
- A valid frontline SIA badge
- Minimum level 2 team certificate (NASDU, NTIPDU or BIPDT)
- Continuation training (CT) records
- A suitable dog of guarding breed
- Compliant dog cages with escape hatches
- Appropriate, smart, unbranded vehicle (no company livery) vehicle suitable to deploy to BS: 8517 standards
- Public Liability Insurance
- 2 proofs of address
- Proof of National Insurance Number
- All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, and a 5 year check-able work history, screen and vetted to BS 8517 and BS7858.
- Professional, presentable with excellent communication skills
- Smart black uniform & boots with clean hi-vis/tactical vest (yellow/black dependent on site)
- You must be focused on customer service, professional and all dogs need to be fully vaccinated, micro chipped and hold a fit to work certificate

**Salary**: From £12.00 per hour
