Are you passionate about wanting to enable young people to fulfil their potential? Do you have a strong belief that children and young people should experience positive and healthy opportunities and a passion to make that happen? Then we would like to invite you to join our multi-disciplinary team.
Erewash Borough Council’s Community Health and Wellbeing Development team are recruiting a Youth Mentor to lead the work of our partnership based one-to-one Youth Mentoring project. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is able to work both as part of a team and on their own initiative.
This role will be mostly operational, supporting targeted young people in a one-to-one mentoring intervention that will include the facilitation of sport and physical activity sessions. The Youth Mentor will take a person centred approach, reacting to the needs of the individual by building a positive relationship, facilitating opportunities and supporting informed decision making and life choices.
Hours of work will need to be flexible to fit with the needs of the mentee’s so some weekend and evening working may be required.
If you wish to join a multi-disciplinary team that values a collective work ethic, innovative thinking and excellent service delivery then this could be the opportunity for you.

**Benefits of Working for Us**:
As part of the excellent package of benefits the council offers, you will also have access to:
- 28 to 32 days annual leave entitlement (dependent on service).

These posts are temporary for 12 months funded through external grant funding and, whilst further extensions to these posts cannot be guaranteed by the council, the Community Health & Wellbeing Development team strives to continually secure external grant funding to ensure services remain operational.
