Butchers Assistant

Due to expansion we are now looking for an assistant to work in our butchery department. You will need to be at least 18 years of age due to health and safety rules, and as we are a small team you must be prepared to work on the checkout or other areas of the business as needed.

The role is physically demanding, both from lifting animal carcasses, and industrial cleaning. You will help maintain excellent standards of daily hygiene in and around the butchers serving and display areas. Scheduled deep cleans of these areas and the large walk in fridge rooms will be your responsibility.

You will assist the butchers serving customers, and with some basic meat prep, and will need to be comfortable around meat and blood, and any previous experience working in this or similar knife based food prep roles would be a great advantage, although not essential as full training will be given.

Contract length: 2 months
Part-time hours: 16 per week

**Salary**: £10.42 per hour
