Stirling, United Kingdom Stirling Carers Centre Full time

Stirling Carers Centre (SCC) is a well-regarded and successful charitable organisation providing tailored information, advice, and emotional and practical support to young people and adults who look after a relative or friend who, due to illness, disability, mental health conditions or addiction, could not manage without their help.

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic person who believes in the potential of young people to join our Young Carers Support Service. The role will involve providing tailored support to Young Carers in a mix of school, group and short breaks settings, as well as working with local and national partners to raise awareness of Young Carers and equip professionals with the knowledge and tools to identify and support Young Carers.

Applicants should have a proven track record in engaging with and supporting young people aged 7-18. Enthusiasm, self-motivation and excellent communication skills are essential, as are a commitment to team working and the ability to work independently using initiative. An understanding of Young Carers and the issues they face is desirable but not essential.

The role involves some administration tasks, therefore basic computer skills are required. Excellent organisational skills, and the ability to learn quickly and work accurately to deadlines are also essential. The role involves regular contact with Young Carers and their families who may be in difficult or crisis situations, and so an empathetic nature and the ability to listen are key to this role.

Stirling Carers Centre is an Equal Opportunities Employer, Disability Confident Employer, Living Wage Employer and Carer Positive Employer.
