Packing Fitter - Nights
Our Packing Fitters are critical to the smooth running of our operations Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you'll help support our Operations, providing comprehensive knowledge and technical expertise
**Working Hours**:
This role is based on our Night Shift
Sunday - 22:00 - 06:05
Monday - Thursday - 21:50 - 06:05
An initial training period will be provided on the Days shift pattern.
41 hours per week.

**Purpose of the Role**:
The mechanical installation and maintenance of all machinery and services required within the Packing Department.
**Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities**:
- Preparing machines to operate at optimum efficiency
- To attend machine breakdowns and carry out maintenance as required, including preventative maintenance
- To carry out bench fitting
- To carry out installation of new machinery
- To follow set procedures for permit to work, job recording, fire alarm muting, health & safety and hygiene set systems of work
- To maintain all machinery to the standards expected in the food industry
- To complete fabrication work: milling, turning, welding, pneumatics, hydraulics as required
- To research areas of improvement related to the machinery used and develop tools/parts to facilitate that improvement
**Qualifications / Experience**:
- A fully completed Apprenticeship is essential
- Previous experience of installation and commissioning of packaging machinery to the standards expected in the food industry is desirable. Examples include: Vertical Form Fill and Seal (VFF), Automated Weighing Systems, HACCP Metal Detection and Milling, turning and welding
- Experience in using case packers and palletising systems
- Machine installation project experience would be beneficial
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- Good Level of verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively use IT packages to a good level e.g. Word, Excel
